Bergen County officials reported the arrest of Mr. Andy Pena, 41, on charges of arson, aggravated arson, possession of a weapon and an attempt to cause widespread injury or damage.
Police said on Monday, July 19, the Lodi Police Department received information from a local establishment regarding suspicious fire damage on their exterior roof.
First responders arrived on the scene and observed approximately three large, burned areas on the roof, along with several broken glass bottles.
According to Bergen County officials, the ensuing investigation revealed that, in the early morning hours of July 8, 2022, Pena intentionally set the fire by using glass bottles as hand-thrown incendiary weapons, causing fire damage to the roof of a commercial establishment.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the Lodi Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
