Lodi Man Charged with Child Endangerment, Criminal Impersonation, Drug Possession

Lodi New Jersey

Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli announced the arrest of Matthew Bolger, III, 42, of Lodi, on charges of endangering the welfare of a minor (specifically, by creating social medial accounts and impersonating a juvenile female victim while engaging in chats with unknown males as the juvenile female ).

Bolger was arrested on yesterday, without incident at his residence, during the execution of a search warrant.

During the investigation it was learned that over the last year, Bolger had created several social media accounts over the Internet in the name of a juvenile female with whom he was acquainted. Bolger would then impersonate the juvenile female over the accounts in order to solicit adult males for pornographic images and for sexual gratification.

Bolger was charged with one (1) count of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of Criminal Impersonation for the account creations and for the solicitation of adult males over the Internet for sexual gratification.

Bolger was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance for suspected narcotics found during the execution of a court authorized search warrant at his residence.

Bail was set by the Honorable Edward J. Jerejian at $10,000 dollars with a 10% option and no contact with the juvenile female or any member of her family.

Matthew Bolger, III was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
