A Lodi man was arrested after he struck a 2-year-old child during a dispute last week, police said.
On June 24, officers responded to 166 Pasadena Avenue on a dispute that led Christian F. Montero, 26, to strike a 2-year-old child with his vehicle.
Upon arrival officers observed the Montero leaving the scene in a vehicle.
Officers pursued the defendant and were able to stop the vehicle on Pasadena Avenue. Montero attempted to flee the scene on foot but was subdued by responding officers.
The investigation revealed that Montero was having a dispute with his sister who was holding her child. During the dispute, the child was struck by Montero.
Montero was arrested and charged with eluding, child cruelty, assault and DWI.
Bail was set at 10,000, with no 10%.
Defendant was transported to the Bergen County Jail.
