Police in Summit are investigating an armed robbery of a liquor store that occurred in the city overnight.
Officers responded to M&M Liquors, located at 512 Morris Avenue, sometime around 8:44 p.m. after a 9-1-1 call.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with
a store employee who told them that two masked males -wearing hooded sweatshirts - entered the store and confronted him behind the counter while one of the suspects brandished what appeared to be a handgun.
The employee was then reportedly ordered to the floor by the gunman while the second suspect removed an undetermined amount of cash from the register.
The males left the store and were last seen fleeing northeast on Lafayette Avenue.
A search of the surrounding area was initiated but suspects were not located.
Police described the suspects as:
Black male approximately 6" tall, muscular build, wearing a dark mask and gloves and a dark colored winter vest over a gray hooded sweatshirt.

There were no physical injuries
immediately reported.
