Linden Police Report Second Narcan Save in Two Weeks

Linden New Jersey

City police reported their second reversal of an overdose victim thanks to Narcan, the anti-opioid medication.

Yesterday, police responded to a residence on the 10 block of W. Edgar Road at 1:35 p.m. for a report of an unconscious female who possibly overdosed.

Upon arrival officers found a 27-year-old city woman who was unresponsive and barely breathing.

Linden Officers Dan Turon and John Vasquez administered Narcan to the woman, who then responded and became conscious. She told the officers that she had used heroin earlier.

She was treated by the Linden Fire Department ambulance and transported to Trinitas for further treatment.

The first incident occurred on May 14th, when two officers used Narcan to revive a 20-year-old Bloomfield woman at a residence on Chandler Avenue.
