Linden Man Gets Five Years on Child Pornography Charges

Linden

A Linden man has been sentenced to five years in state prison for being in possession of hundreds of images depicting acts of child pornography, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Monday.

Robert Wood, 35, was sentenced Friday by state Superior Court Judge John M. Deitch.

An investigation into Wood’s actions by the Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Prosecutions Unit was initiated by a referral from the Galt, California Police Department, according to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Shawn Barnes, who prosecuted the case.

The investigation revealed that Wood was in possession of more than 700 images depicting acts of child pornography that were stored on his cell phone, Barnes said.

Wood was arrested without incident at his home on Tremley Point Road in Linden last July, with bail set at $50,000, and in November 2016 he pleaded guilty to a single count of third-degree possession of child pornography.
