Linden Man Charged in Fatal Warinanco Park Shooting

A Linden man has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred in the Roselle area of Warinanco Park, Union County, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office.AdOfficials said Mr. Gerald O. Walker, 47, faces charges including one count of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, as announced by Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Union County Police Chief Martin Mogensen.

On Sunday, May 19th, at approximately 7:51 pm, Union County Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the Roselle area of Warinanco Park.

Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Shakiir Manns, 29, of Linden, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Walker turned himself in to the Elizabeth Police Department today.
