Jean Wadnor, 20, of Linden, surrendered to the Union County Sheriff’s Office yesterday on arrest warrants for aggravated assault, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
He is being held at the Union County Jail on a bail set at $62,500 cash only. On March 31, Wadnor, an employee of a fast-food restaurant on E. St. George Ave., confronted a co-worker, a 36-year-old Elizabeth woman, as she was leaving work and stabbed her in the neck with a knife that he took from the restaurant. The incident stemmed from a work-related dispute.
The victim was taken to University Hospital in Newark where she was treated for a serious injury. An investigation by Detective Matt Damatta resulted in arrest warrants being issued for Wadnor.
He apparently fled the city and was evading authorities until his surrender yesterday.
His court date is set for July 1st.
