Linden police charged a local man for burglarizing a residence in August of this year.
Stephen M. Faughnan, 37, of Linden, is being held on a burglary charge at the Union County Jail. His bail has been set at $20,000.
Police said on August 11, 2016, a resident of Luttgen Place reported that someone entered her house by breaking a basement window and then ransacked several bedrooms.
According to reports, various jewelry items valued at several thousand dollars were taken from the home.
After an eight-week investigation by Detective Kevin Mikolajczyk, an arrest warrant for Faughnan was issued. Detectives checked several addresses and motels for Faughnan, all without any success.
On October 14th, police learned that Faughnan was committed to the county jail after being arrested by another police agency. He was ultimately served with the complaint.
A court date is set for this week.
