A stubborn brush fire near the PSE&G electrical plant placed firefighters at the scene early this afternoon to tackle the blaze.
Firefighters received a call at approximately 2 p.m. for a report of a brush fire at PSE&G Property, located at 4001 South Wood Avenue.
Arriving crews found an area of brush burning under high voltage lines between PSE&G property and the NJ Turnpike.
Crews encountered difficult circumstances in accessing the swampy area but were able to quickly get the fire under control.
Due to the close proximity to the PSE&G switch yard, a full response was required.
Mutual aid from Rahway, Roselle, and Cranford were called to cover the city during the fire.
There were no injuries reported during the fire.
