No charges have been filed against the driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Oakland, Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, police responded to 56 Spruce Street sometime after 4 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian strike.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the 56-year-old Lincoln Park man was walking eastbound when he tripped and fell and was ultimately struck by a box truck Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the victim suffered a severe head injury and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
According to authorities, no charges were filed against the 34-year-old New York truck driver.
The incident remains under investigation.
