Plainfield emergency responders were on the scene of a lightning strike that caused damage to a Union County home Saturday evening.
Severe weather that brought heavy rain, wind and lightning rolled into the Plainfield area had firefighters responded to a home in the 60's block of Andover to investigate reports of a lightning strike around 7 p.m.
Crews arrived and found burn marks inside a single-family home, but no smoke or flames was present.
After a search and an investigation, firefighters believe lighting struck an electrical component connected to the house and may have briefly extended.
No injuries were reported and firefighters placed the incident under control in under a half hour.
