EMS rushed a female victim to University Hospital this morning after the woman was struck and critically injured by a vehicle in Newark.
The incident happened near intersection of Rt. 21 and Raymond Boulevard shortly before 3 a.m. when emergency responders were called to the scene after receiving reports of a pedestrian down according to reports.
Arriving crews located the woman (who is reported to be in her mid 20's) laying on the ground suffering a serious head injury.
Sources told RLS Metro that the woman recently moved into the area and was crossing the intersection when a small SUV struck her.
The official identity of the woman has not been released by authorities at this time.
