A pedestrian was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital in critical condition after a vehicle struck them in a section of Paterson on Wednesday night.
Police say at approximately 8:05 p.m., police and EMS were dispatched to the area of 249 Straight Street to investigate reports of a person down in the roadway.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found the unconscious and unresponsive person and began CPR in an attempt to resuscitate the victim.
Paterson Police requested an accident investigation team while they closed off a section of Straight Street.
Police are looking into the cause of the pedestrian crash.
