A pedestrian struck and seriously injured by a vehicle in Newark overnight has police investigating.
The incident happened near the White Castle restaurant located at the intersection of West Peddie Street and Elizabeth Avenue according to reports.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene at around 11:45 p.m. after receiving calls for a pedestrian strike that had a person injured at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to the hospital suffering serious facial and head injuries reports said.
It is not immediately clear if the vehicle that struck the victim stayed at the scene.
The investigation is being conducted by the Newark Police Department at this time.
