Early on in our marriedpreneur journey, we started investing in coaching.
Whether it's been digital marketing, corporate sponsor/partnerships, or business development, we are both firm believers in hiring help that will collapse time and increase profitability by simply learning a new skill.
From day 1, we started flying to training events together, and then later on, we would do home study courses together. Both have been a powerful learning experience for us.
The primary benefit for us has been gaining knowledge and new skills that will increase our efficiency. One of the main aspects that has served us well, believe it or not, is making new memories together.
On the surface, it may not seem like a 'business lesson,' but the truth is that training together has brought us closer.
So, when obstacles arise, we have a figurative 'treasure chest of knowledge' to glean from! It has been a game-changer for us. However, there were some significant obstacles we had to overcome to get to that point.
That's what we want to dive into today. Many couples desire significant business growth but don't realize how to overcome common learning obstacles.
Here's what we've observed thus far:
- We have different learning styles. One can go 'hard in the paint' for hours listening in a cold ballroom, while the other prefers more people engagement.
- Note-taking reflects how we think. One writes detailed notes, while the other uses diagrams and pictures to trigger new concepts.
- We can use each other to our benefit when we use the breaks to discuss what stuck out to us and how we can apply it to our business. Interestingly, we usually bring something different to the table, so it's a great reinforcer.
- We have to schedule time on the calendar that works for both of us and make our own learning rhythm. So, instead of consuming a full hour of content at a time, we might do 30 min at a time. That works for us. We do it frequently to stay accountable, and we keep it short!
Recently, we've been going through social media training with a business coach, and this time, we are focusing on our wealth roles, how they might be different, and what to do about them.
