A Hunterdon County man was sentenced today to 72 months in prison for receiving and possessing explicit images of minors, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced.
According to U.S. Attorney Sellinger, Daniel Murphy, 48, of Lebanon, previously pleaded guilty to an information charging him with receipt of explicit images of minors and possession of explicit images of minors.
According to documents filed in this case and statements made in court:
From January 1, 2017 to November 20, 2019, Murphy downloaded and possessed more than 600 images depicting the explicit abuse of minors from a peer-to-peer network on the internet.
In addition to the prison term, Murphy was sentenced to five years of supervised release and ordered him to pay $19,000 in restitution.
