A late night fast moving fire that broke out inside a house in East Orange had firefighters on the scene battling the blaze.
Several calls of fire that ignited in a three story multi-family home located at 199 Amherst Street had crews rush to the scene at around 10:45 p.m.
Firefighters arriving to the scene located smoke and flames coming from the basement and first floor of the residence, but no extensions to nearby homes were noticed.
It took crews about an hour to bring the blaze under control according to reports.
Crews found the remains of about two cats and a dog inside the residence although they were able to rescue two cats from the burning structure.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
