Police dispersed a large crowd of individuals who participated in a physical confrontation resulting in shots fired in Newrak's South Ward Friday.
The late-night incident happened around 11:40 p.m. near 244 Nye Avenue.
Several police units responded to ShotSpotter activations in the area and when they arrived, officers found a large crowd attempting to flee the area. Police say a person armed with a gun began firing during the altercation.
After cops searched the area, shell casings were found, but no injuries were reported.
Authorities reported no arrests at this time.
