Firefighters in Kearny took several hours to bring a house fire under control in the city on Tuesday night.
According to reports, the fast-moving fire broke out at 123 Stuyvesant Avenue just before 10:40 p.m. sending firefighters to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, crews observed flamed shooting from the attic windows then through the roof at that location.
Firefighters struck a second alarm for manpower as flames began to extend to neighboring structures, according to officials.
Heavy fire existed throughout the home as crews made their way inside the house to search for trapped or injured occupants, which came back negative.
The fire as brought under control just before with the cause under investigation.
Harrison, Bayonne, Belleville, Jersey City, North Arlington were among the companies assisting in the operation.
