Juvenile Charged with Fatal Shooting of Bayonne Teen Following Investigation

Authorities in Hudson County announced that the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has arrested a male juvenile following the death of a 17-year-old male in Bayonne.AdHudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez stated shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, the Bayonne Police Department and the Bayonne Fire Department were notified of an unresponsive male inside an apartment at 124 West Third Street.

Officials stated that the male—later identified as John Dominguez, 17, of Bayonne—was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Bayonne Medical Center.

He was pronounced dead just after 3 p.m., authorities say.

According to officials, on Wednesday, July 24, the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Death to be a Gunshot Wound to the Torso and the Manner to be Homicide.

Following the report by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit arrested a 17-year-old Jersey City male, officials said.AdOfficials say he is charged as a juvenile with Manslaughter, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

Juvenile matters are confidential, and no additional information can be released at this time, officials stated.
