Jersey City Student Shot After Alleged Dispute

Police are at the scene of a shooting that injured a Dickinson High School student in Jersey City.

Police were called to Chestnut Avenue at about 2 p.m. today, where they found a boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

As police searched for the shooter, Dickinson High and St. Joseph's grammar school were placed on lockdown.

A dispute among two students at the high school appears to have led to the shooting.

The student was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A crime scene was established, where a number of shell casings have been found.
