Police are attempting to determine the location of a shooting that had a male victim transported to the hospital in a private vehicle overnight.
Officials at Jersey City Medical Center contacted police when a male victim suffering two gunshot wounds to the stomach entered the hospital's emergency room at around 4:25 a.m.
Police checked Virginia Avenue for a crime scene, but it is not clear if officers ever located anything.
The victim was listed in serious but stable condition.
A motive for the shooting has not been determined.
