Police in Jersey City are on the search for a suspect who is wanted for a shooting that sent one person to the hospital overnight.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire erupted in the vicinity of Duncan and West Side avenues just before 2 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene to find the victim suffering a gunshot wound to the leg reports said.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where they are expected to survive.
Police canvassed the area for a possible suspect, but there were no arrests immediately reported.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
