Jersey CIyt Police arrested an armed suspect reportedly wanted by authorities in Essex County for a shots-fired incident in Newark.
According to preliminary reports, on Friday around 8:20 p.m., police came across a black Buick in the area of Mallory Avenue and Clendeny Street with registrations that came back wanted for a Newark shooting.
Police say the driver was questioned and taken into custody without further incident.
A further investigation revealed that a loaded weapon was recovered, possibly used in the Newark incident.
Newark Police were notified of the arrest and are expected to continue the investigation.
