Police in Jersey City are investigating the motive behind a shooting incident that sent two victims to the hospital Thursday night.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the vicinity of Martin Luther King Drive and Virginia Avenue around 8:55 p.m.
Units arrived and found a vehicle speeding from the scene and shell casings on the ground.
Police chased the car that was eventually stopped on NJ-440 after being stuck in traffic.
Three occupants inside the car were taken into custody and a weapon was confiscated.
Back at the shooting scene, two individuals were transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
The investigation into the shooting remains active and ongoing.
