A shooting incident early Monday morning in Jersey City left a male victim with a gunshot wound, prompting an investigation by police. Preliminary information indicated that officers were initially called to the scene following reports of shots fired near the intersection of Dwight Street and Ocean Avenue at approximately 2:45 a.m.
Upon arrival, police discovered the victim with a bullet wound to his groin. He was quickly transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where he is reportedly stable.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still unclear, and detectives are actively investigating the motive behind the attack.
The suspect responsible for the shooting fled the scene and remains at large.
Currently, no arrests have been made, and no other injuries were reported in connection with this incident.
Jersey City Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
