Late Monday night, Jersey City officials reported an incident involving shots fired that resulted in a police cruiser being struck by gunfire.
According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred shortly before 11:45 p.m. in the vicinity of Bergen Avenue and Forrest Street.
Police officers patrolling the area became aware of the gunfire and immediately alerted headquarters. During the subsequent investigation, it was discovered that the windshield of their patrol vehicle had been struck by gunfire.
Authorities reviewed surveillance camera footage from the area to identify a potential suspect.
However, as of now, no arrests have been reported, and the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported in connection with this incident.
Jersey City officials and law enforcement are actively working to gather more information and resolve this matter.
