Jersey City Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Role in Narcotics Operation

Authorities in Hudson County announced that on Wednesday, August 21, the Honorable John Young sentenced a 35-year-old man to 15 years in New Jersey State Prison for his role in a narcotics operation in Jersey City.

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez stated Dwight Drew, of Jersey City, pleaded guilty to Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous, Certain Persons not to Possess a Firearm, and Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Assault.AdHe was sentenced to 15 years in prison relating to the narcotics offense, officials say.

Officials stated that it will run concurrently with an eight-year sentence for the firearm offense and a seven-year sentence for the conspiracy offense.

The charges stem from a 2020 narcotics investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the Jersey City Police Department, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office, and various other area law enforcement agencies, according to officials.
