Residents from as far away as Beech Street in Kearny and North Arlington dialed 911 after they said they heard several explosions that shook homes after a demolition crew imploded what was left of a former PSE&G power plant in Jersey City Friday morning.
According to preliminary reports, Jersey City Firefighters officiated over the early morning implosion that happened just before 5:40 a.m. at 110 Van Keuren Avenue.
The power plant was subject to fire back on February 11th, but officials said there were no injuries during the blaze.
Demolition crews reported the implosion as successful with no injuries or property damage.
