Police in Jersey City are investigating a burglary that occurred at a residence in the city overnight.
The incident occurred in the 80's block of Wales Avenue before 10:45 p.m. where police arrived at the scene to find that a thief reportedly entered the residence through a fire escape and stole more than $4000 in jewelry from inside the home.
Police searched the area and collected evidence in an attempt to find the suspect responsible for the crime.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
