A new initiative aimed at maintaining cleaner streets and public spaces is now underway in Irvington, according to information released by Mayor Tony Vauss.

The "Mayor Tony Vauss Clean Sweep Initiative" focuses on improving sanitation efforts through scheduled cleanings during late-night and early-morning hours and additional weekend maintenance.
To support the program, the township has acquired specialized equipment to enhance cleaning efforts.

Among these is the 900 ECL Sewer Jet, a high-pressure system designed to clear blockages and improve sewer maintenance, helping to prevent flooding and sanitation issues.
Additionally, the township has purchased a new garbage truck to ensure timely waste collection and address missed pickups.
Another key addition is the Multi-Hog CV350, a compact street-cleaning vehicle designed to navigate sidewalks and tight spaces in the downtown area.
This machine will help remove debris from Irvington’s streets and pedestrian areas, clearing them of debris.
Mayor Vauss emphasized that the initiative is about more than cleanliness—it’s about fostering community pride.
"We want residents to feel good about their town, and that starts with maintaining a clean environment," he said.
The Clean Sweep Initiative will operate on a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to keep Irvington’s streets in top condition.
Officials hope the program will set a new standard for urban cleanliness and improve residents' overall quality of life for residents.
