Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead overnight in Irvington.
Authorities responded to reports of shots fired in the area of May Street. and Ball Street around 1 a.m. where upon their arrival they found a male victim struck by gunfire.
EMS rushed the man to University Hospital where he died a short time later.
The identity of the man had not been released at this time.
An investigation is under way by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office
