Police in Irvington are investigating overnight gunfire that injured two people in the township.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the area of Stuyvesant Ave. and Harper Ave. shortly before 12:30 a.m where they arrived to find two people injured from apparent gunfire.
EMS transported the victims to University Hospital in Newark where one suffered a gunshot wound to the back and the other injured to the foot. Their injuries were not reported to be life threatening as of 4:45 a.m.
Police setup a crime scene in the area where they searched for evidence and possible suspects.
The Irvington Police Department are handling the investigation.
