Police in Irvington found a male victim who walked away from a shooting scene in Newark Sunday morning.
According to authorities, Irvington Police officers patrolling the vicinity of 458 18th Avenue came across a person bleeding from his back around 4:35 a.m.
During the investigation, notified Newark Police when they learned that bullets struck the victim in the area of 458 14th Avenue.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital for treatment and his condition has not been updated since 5 a.m.
The Essex County Sheriff's department officers assisted at the scene, but no suspects were immediately identified.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
