Irvington Township Police took a male.into custody after they happened upon a robbery that occurred on the border of Newark.
Police officers patrolling in the area of 19 Birks Place came across the victim of a robbery and a suspect nearby who was armed with a gun at around 6 p.m.
Officers were able to apprehend the suspect without incidence then locate a gun according to reports.
The suspect was held until Newark Police arrived to take over the investigation.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
