An Irvington mother accused of killing her 8-year-old daughter and abusing and neglecting her two younger children, rejected a plea deal today.
Prosecutors recommend a 24-year prison sentence which Krisla Rezireksyon would have to serve slightly more than 20 years before becoming eligible for parole.
Jury selection in Rezireksyon's trial is scheduled to start Tuesday, according to officials.
On May 22, 2011, Rezireksyon called 911 to report that her daughter was not breathing.
Upon arrival, authorities found Christiana Glenn dead with an untreated broken leg. Two other children were found with untreated factions and starving.
At the trial, Rezireksyon's attorney is expected to present a "diminished capacity" defense, meaning she was suffering from a "mental defect or deficiency" at the time of Glenn's death.
