An Irvington man accused of killing 37-year-old Patricia Hiciano has been indicted.
On March 10, Hiciano's family filed a missing report after she had failed to return home from her cashier job at the El Merengue restaurant in Newark.
Days later, Hiciano's partially decomposed body was found in a vacant apartment.
In May police arrested 45-year-old Sandro Vargas after probable cause pointed he committed the killing.
Vargas was indicted on Aug. 7 on a murder charge.
He remains in custody at the Essex County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500,000 bail.
Vargas' arraigned is scheduled for Sept. 1 before Superior Court Judge Ronald Wigler.
