Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal late night shooting in Newark.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Fuquan Johnson, 27, of Irvington was found shot multiple times in the 100 block of Alexander Street at around 9:30 p.m. ON Wednesday.
Police responded to the area after reports of shots fired where responding officers located Johnson at that location unconscious and unresponsive according a spokesperson from the prosecutor's office.
He was pronounced dead a short time later.
There have been no arrests made at this time.
The investigation is active and ongoing the spokesperson said.
