Irvington Man Arrested for Newark Stabbing

Authorities in Newark reported the arrest of D’Angelo M. Hayes, 26, of Irvington, for a stabbing incident that occurred on Saturday afternoon.

According to authorities, at approximately 5:45 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the area of 18th Street and 14th Avenue on a call of a stabbing.

Police said a 38-year old male victim was stabbed by a male suspect inside the residence while visiting with family.

The victim was transported to University Hospital where he is said to be in stable condition.

As part of their investigation, detectives determined that D’Angelo M. Hayes is wanted for the stabbing.

He was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
