Irvington Launches Recycling, Garbage Can Giveaway to Promote Cleanliness and Safety

Irvington is set to roll out a groundbreaking initiative involving a recycling and garbage can giveaway. The initiative aims to enhance community cleanliness and safety.

The event, organized by Mayor Tony Vauss and the Irvington Municipal Council, will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024, and again on October 5, 2024.AdThis effort, designed to tackle waste management and rodent control issues, reflects Mayor Vauss’s commitment to making Irvington a model for sustainable living.

With many municipalities facing challenges in managing waste effectively, Irvington’s program is a proactive approach to providing residents with the necessary resources for proper waste disposal.

“This initiative is a major step forward for our Township,” said Mayor Vauss. “It empowers our residents to actively contribute to a cleaner, safer Irvington and underscores our dedication to sustainability and public health. I urge everyone to participate and help maintain the beauty and safety of our community.”

The program aims to provide residents with the tools needed to keep their neighborhoods clean and free from health hazards.

Local council members will distribute the cans at various schools across the Township, making it a collaborative community effort.  

This event aligns perfectly with Mayor Vauss’s ongoing “Clean Community” initiative, which prioritizes both cleanliness and safety for all Irvington residents.
