Irvington Police are investigating a violent early morning crash that sent two people to a Newark hospital early this morning.
The explosive two-car crash that happened at the intersection of Ellis and Springfield Avenues shortly before 3 a.m. sent police and EMS to the scene where two people were rushed to University Hospital with critical injuries.
Residents in the area said that the collision sounded more like a bomb had gone off in the area with one witness saying that one of the vehicles was traveling at a high rate of speed with no lights on shortly before the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by Irvington Police.
