Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director, announced that there were no Mega Millions game jackpot or second tier New Jersey prizewinners, but there were five third prizewinning tickets sold that match the four white balls and the Gold Mega Ball for the Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 drawing.
One of those tickets was purchased with the Megaplier option increasing the $5,000 prize to $25,000.
The winning tickets were purchased at the following locations:
Rose’s Card & Gift, 1081 Inman Ave., Edison in Middlesex County ( $25,000);
Maple Gardens Food Corp., 20 Marshall St., Irvington in Essex County ($5,000);
Jersey City Exxon Shop, 3140 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City in Hudson County ($5,000);
The Galaxy Drug Store, 7000 Boulevard East, Guttenberg in Hudson County ($5,000);
Leisure Village Exxon, 570 Route 70 E., Lakewood in Ocean County ($5,000).
In addition, 39 other players purchased $500 winning tickets.
Four of those tickets were purchased with the Megaplier option, making each ticket worth $2,500. Moreover, 99,469 other New Jersey players took home $198,345 in prizes ranging from $1 to $250, according to Hedinger.
“Congratulations to the lottery winners and to the retailers that sold all of those winning tickets,” said Hedinger. “For selling the winning tickets, the retailers have become many more Lottery ‘lucky locations’ overnight.” The winning numbers for the Friday, Jan. 1 drawing were: 07, 18, 37, 38 and 39. The Gold Mega Ball was 09, and the Megaplier Multiplier was 05.
The Mega Millions jackpot rolls to $145,000,000 for the next drawing, which will be held Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 11:00 pm. Powerball and Mega Millions drawings can be seen on WABC TV stations. Mega Millions tickets are sold in 45 participating jurisdictions. Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.
