Rahway police are currently piecing together the motive behind a violent stabbing that occurred late Saturday night.
The incident prompted officers to swiftly respond to the intersection of St. Georges Avenue and New Brunswick Avenue following reports of a person injured around 10:30 p.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered a male victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds to his back.
With a sense of urgency, they arranged for the victim to be transported to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center for immediate medical attention.
While the victim received treatment, law enforcement diligently combed the area for additional evidence and potential leads to identify the assailant.
The motive for this attack is under an active and ongoing investigation.
