Police are investigating the cause of death of a man found on a street in Newark on Saturday.
Newark Police were dispatched to 57 Montgomery Street to investigate reports of an unconscious male before 7 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found the unidentified victim unconscious and unresponsive at that location.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The community identified the victim as Mr. Anthony Brown, who is in his early 40's.
According to residents in the neighborhood, Brown was engaged in a physical confrontation earlier that morning but did see Brown walk away and did not return.
Authorities have not immediately reported foul play at this time.
