Mercer County authorities are conducting an investigation following the discovery of a body in the Delaware River on Friday evening.
Trenton Police were alerted and dispatched to 150 Lamberton Road, near the river's edge, shortly before 8:25 p.m. after receiving reports of a person spotted in the water.
Upon arrival, officers located the body of an unidentified individual floating in the river.
Firefighters were quickly on the scene to recover the body, which was then transported to the medical examiner's office for further examination to determine the cause of death.
The State Regional Medical Examiners have been called in to assist with the investigation and shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
There has been no additional information released regarding the identity of the deceased or potential factors leading up to their presence in the river.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
