A crash on I-78 near exit 18 in Clinton (Hunterdon County) resulted in several injuries and prompted a significant emergency response on Sunday night.
NJ State Police responded to reports of the crash, which occurred in the westbound lanes of I-78 just before 10 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, troopers found vehicles involved in the incident, with occupants needing medical attention.
According to initial reports, given the severity of the injuries, troopers requested several medivac helicopters to airlift the injured individuals to nearby hospitals for immediate treatment.
In response to the accident, authorities temporarily closed a section of I-78 to facilitate the investigation.
The cause of the collision remains under scrutiny, and further details will be provided as they become available.
