The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office is looking into the motive behind a shooting that injured a person in a section of Paterson on Thursday evening.
According to a preliminary investigation, police were called to the vicinity of 690 East 23rd Street to investigate reports of shots fired that rang out around 7:50 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found the unidentified victim suffering a bullet wound in their arm.
Police say the victim was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
There were no arrests reported.
