Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that caused injuries in Newark's North Ward Friday night.
At approximately 3 a.m., emergency responders rushed to the intersection of McCarter Highway and 3rd Avenue to investigate reports of a crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, police found six damaged cars with occupants out of the vehicles at that location.
According to preliminary reports, at least two victims were transported to an area hospital to treat non-fatal injuries.
Due to the significant amount of collisions at the location, the ‘controlled’ intersection is said to be one of the most dangerous in Essex County.
The cause of the crash has not been determined.
