Police Newark are on the search for the driver of a car that struck a vehicle at a location in the city then fled the scene early Saturday morning.
Emergency responders were called to the vicinity of Market and McCarter Highway to assist in reports of a collision that occurred just before 2:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a vehicle that had smoke coming from it with one person suffering a non-life threatening head injury at that location.
Crews were able to alleviate the cause of the smoke condition while EMS treated the victim for the injury according to reports.
The driver of the suspected vehicle sped away from the scene toward McCarter Highway and remains at-large.
There were no other serious injuries reported.
